The Common Committee will be spreading mulch around the trees on the Common on Saturday May 9 starting at about 9:30 am. All of the members of the committee will be present and so represent a quorum. We will not discuss any business of the Committee, but if anyone wishes to monitor they are welcome to attend. If it is raining, the work may shift to Sunday May 10 or another agreed upon date and time.
Mission: To keep Westford’s historic Common as intact as possible for the enjoyment of the (Town’s) people. To oversee the use and enhancement of the Common.
Authority: To oversee the funds that Henrik Kruse left in trust for the Committee to use for the enhancement of the Common. The Committee also cares for the Common’s tidiness, other than mowing which the Town is responsible for. The Committee is an advisory group and provides regular inputs to the Selectboard on issues affecting the Common.
