If the ballot measure fails, none of the VHCB grant ($330,000) will be awarded as it is requisite that the Town supports the project with the remainder of the cost, and all private funds raised will be returned. This means that under this plan, the Town would not purchase and conserve the 130 acre forest/community land, nor would the 42 acres of farmland be purchased and conserved by the Pouliot family. The Gauthier’s would retain full ownership of the land.
